Blog is a Four Letter Word

When it comes to writing blog posts it can be like pulling teeth. We build a lot of blogging components for clients along with obviously keeping our own blog. Often maintaining a blog can take a Herculean effort. “Hey, client work needs to be done! Contractors need to be paid! Who’s going to finish up that marketing proposal!” . . . and so on. The list of excuses can extend forever, turning blogging into a chore, rather than asset to you and your business. I know the trials and tribulations of having to generate content on a consistent basis and over the past year and a half I have been far from consistent and struggle everyday with those commitments. But still I try!

I was reading through my feed reader the other day and can across this article about the benefits of writing everyday.

The written word is a part of every day life. At its most basic, writing is a way of communicating. This is the one inalienable characteristic of writing itself, whether you’re communicating with a colleague or friend or you’re actually communicating with yourself – though a shopping list, for instance.

Aside from the fact that writing is an inescapable part of every day life, there are many good reasons you should make a good session of writing part of your daily routine, even if it’s just a few hundred words. You don’t have to be a pro to reap the benefits of creating the written word.
